BEATEN TRACK
Skeleton
Coast Safaris has been operated by the Schoeman
family since 1977 and, in our opinion provides the very
best safari experience in Namibia. They specialise in
taking clients to the undeveloped and remote wilderness
areas including the Skeleton Coast, Namib Naukluft and
western regions of Damaraland and the Kaokoveld. A major
feature of these safaris is the flying, which provides
an outstanding view of the diverse geological formations,
shipwrecks scattered along the coast and the refuges
of desert dwelling black rhino and desert elephant.
Expert guides advise guests on all the ecological aspects
of the desert and its wide diversity of flora and fauna.
Highlights are the desolate coast with its roaring dunes,
the starkly spectacular Ugab rock formations and the
colourful red lavas and yellow sandstones of the Huab
environs, ancient bushmen rock engravings, the living
fossil plant Welwitschia mirabilis, a visit to a settlement
of the nomadic Himba people, who still live and dress
according to ancient customs and traditions, and the
panoramic vistas of the Hartmann Valley, which extends
northwards to the Kunene River on the Angolan border.
Accommodation for 4 - 10 guests is in 3 fully equipped
desert camps and the standard 3 night safari can be
extended an extra day to include Sossusvlei and the
Etosha National Park. These safaris are truly amazing!
Please note a night in Windhoek is required before and
after the safari.
Best of
Namibia Wing Safari is a 6 night fly in safari
including 2 nights at Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp, 2
nights at Damaraland Camp and 2 nights at Ongava Lodge,

the Skeleton Coast and a crayfish lunch in Swakopmund

camping / self drive trip. Vehicles come complete with

in conservation and big cats The family run guest farm,
west of the Waterberg plateau, is home to the AfriCat
Foundation The Foundation rehabilitates big cats (particularly
cheetah and leopard) which have been captured on farmland.
The animals are retrained at hunting wild game and then
relocated to wildlife reserves. Highly informative Bushman
trails are also offered. Comfortable accommodation for
20 guests.
