NAMIB NAUKLUFT REGION

The main attractions in this area are the towering red dunes at Sossusvlei, and 80 km further south the NamibRand Reserve, offering some of the most photographed sights in Namibia.

Wolwedans is situated on the private NamibRand Reserve offering a desert experience, quite different to Sossusvlei Expert guides bring to life the diversity of the different desert landscapes with expansive sand and gravel plains interspersed by vast golden grass savannah and majestic mountain ranges. Accommodation at Wolwedans Dune Camp is for 12 guests in rustic tents on wooden platforms whilst Wolwedans Dune Lodge is for 18 guests in luxurious chalets.

Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp is situated 30 km from Sesriem, the entrance to Sossusvlei, where towering ochre dunes, said to be the highest in the world, rise 1000ft above the surrounding plains. The camp is situated on a 7000-hectare property with wonderful desert scenery. Accommodation for 28 guests is in luxury bungalows with ensuite facilities and plunge pools. Excursions are taken by 4x4 vehicles to the dunes, taking in the desert scenery and its fauna and flora. Hot air balloon rides can be arranged.
