Kenya is the oldest and most traditional safari destination. The diversity of its people, abundant wildlife, contrasting landscapes and tropical coastline make it an exciting and desirable holiday destination. Safaris focus on Kenya’s National Parks: Amboseli, Samburu, Tsavo and the Masai Mara. Due to their popularity and accessibility, some have become over commercialised, though certain areas remain unspoilt. The best way to see the country is with owner / operator private mobile safaris and homesteads, most of which are set in private game ranches or reserves, or on the banks of one of the Rift Valley Lakes. They offer a perfect opportunity to view game, by Landrover or guided walks, over private land or in National Parks.

Access to Kenya is via Nairobi on British Airways or Kenya Airways daily.

Our preferred operator is Cheli and Peacock Safaris who operate classic mobile-tented safaris, visiting The Masai Mara, the Rift Valley lakes, the Aberdares and Samburu, either on a private tailor-made basis or on a set date departure. The former is ideal for a group of friends or family travelling together, while the latter is for those who want to join others on a set itinerary. They also operate Elsa's Kopje, Tortillis Camp, Mugie Ranch and Mara Camp.
