Madagascar, the world's fourth largest island, is another new tourism destination for the adventure traveller, because of its unique landscapes, flora and fauna, geological formations and exquisite beaches. Its wildlife evolved independently of mainland Africa resulting in many unique species. Accommodation is basic and transport and logistics are very much in their infancy. We recommend joining a scheduled small group with a specialist guide, unless you have plenty of time!
