OKAVANGO DELTA
Xugana Island Lodge
Xugana Island Lodge has possibly the best view and position
overlooking permanent water in the Delta. Its stilted,
wooden, reed and thatch en suite cottages, accommodating
16 guests, are built under a canopy of wild ebony and
garcinia trees and it offers all the delta activities
of birding, fishing, mokoro trails, boating, walking on
the islands and enjoying the magnificent scenery.
Xugana Mokoro and Walking Trails
The Xugana Mokoro and Walking Trails are best suited for
those who really want to experience the delta by spending
2 - 4 nights 'camping out' on various islands near
Xugana.
Expert Ian McColl, who is well known for his infectious
enthusiasm of the wild and his great love of lions, is
the specialist guide on these trips. He gives a fascinating
interpretation of the bush and operates trails for 2 -
6 guests in comfortable ensuite tents, between April and
December. A night at Xugana is suggested either prior
to or after the trail. No single supplement charged.
