MOREMI NATIONAL PARK, CHOBE NATIONAL PARK, SELINDA AND KWANDO PRIVATE RESERVES

Tsaro Elephant Lodge
Tsaro Elephant Lodge is situated on the north eastern edge of the "big game" Moremi Wildlife Reserve, facing onto flood plains of the River Khwai, where there is a great variety and concentration of game. The camp dining area overlooks a productive waterhole and accommodation is for 16 guests in thatch and brick rondavels. Tsaro also has a fabulous swimming pool, which is a welcome retreat from the soaring summer temperatures.

Xakanaxa
Xakanaxa is the original camp within the Moremi Game Reserve accommodating 24 guests in large, luxury ensuite tents. Surrounded to the north and west by the waterways of the Okavango, and to the east and south by dry woodlands it offers a combination of delta and big game experiences. The warm hospitality provided by Bob and Flo make this camp a favourite amongst guests.

Mombo Camp
Mombo Camp offers first class facilities with tented accommodation for 18 guests. The dining room and lounge / bar area overlook the open plain in front of the camp and it is known for its excellent predator sightings. At least 26 different leopards and close to 50 lion are known in the immediate Mombo vicinity. 2000 high season rates (Jul - Oct) reduce from $ 795.00 pppn sharing to $ 660.00 pppn sharing in the low season (Jan - June, Nov & Dec). Little Mombo is more rustic with tented accommodation for 6 guests.

Chitabe
Chitabe is situated in a private concession area bordering the Moremi and overlooks a seasonal flood plain. The camp contributes to the nearby wild dog research station, monitoring an average of 160 wild dogs in 10 - 12 packs. It accommodates 16 guests in tents on teak decks and offers game drives, walking safaris and a plunge pool. Chitabe Trails Camp is more rustic and tented in a forest for only 8 guests. Excellent feed back and very productive game area.

Landela Walking Trails
Landela Walking Trails are attractively priced and offer a 2 - 6 night walking trail staying at Baobab, Eden and Mantis tree and tented camps with game walks of about 15km / 4 hours a day between camps and guided by an armed licensed guide for 2 - 8 guests. Meals are prepared over a campfire under the stars and accommodation is quite basic, but charming. No single supplements charged.

Muchenje Safari Lodge
Muchenje Safari Lodge is situated on an escarpment edge overlooking the Chobe River and the Caprivi Strip. Open topped game drives are taken on a private reserve and in the 11,000 km2 Chobe National Park famous for its large elephant population. The lodge accommodates 20 guests in thatched cottages with private balconies and ensuite facilities. Walking safaris available. Situated in the west away from the overcrowded eastern Kasane entrance to the Chobe National Park.

Zibalianja Camp
Zibalianja Camp is a firm favourite and the appeal is its small size accommodating only 6 guests (unusual in Botswana) in tents raised on wooden platforms. It overlooks the floodplains of the Selinda Reserve, a 1350 km2 private concession that forms a big game corridor between the Linyanti Swamps and the Okavango Delta. Game viewing is excellent and the camp offers game drives, walking, tracking and night drives. Known for the Selinda lions which hunt hippo. The best game viewing is between July and November.

Selinda Camp
Selinda Camp is a 12 bedded tented bush camp situated on the Selinda Spillway overlooking open floodplains within the private Selinda Reserve. Best game viewing is between July and November.

Selinda Walking Trails
The Selinda Walking Trails operate in the northeastern sector of the Selinda Reserve for 1- 4 guests for 2 nights camping out. On foot one becomes part of the environment - suddenly the wildlife notices you and you notice things you never thought existed. Seeing an impala snort at you as if you are a lion is infinitely more rewarding than sitting in a vehicle observing a lion that ignores your presence. Accommodation is at semi-permanent rustic Tshwena and Mokoba tented camps with a 'loo with a view' and bucket shower. A night is recommended at either Selinda or Zibilianja camps either side of the walking safari.

Other big game options are Chobe Chilwero, Chobe Game Lodge, Sandibe, Xudum, Camp Moremi, Xigera, Vumbura, Kwando Lagoon Camp, Kwando Lebala Camp, Savuti Wilderness Camp, Savute Elephant Camp.
