PHOTOGRAPHY & EQUIPMENT

Africa is a great place for photography. We recommend you bring a good, lightweight camera, minimum size of 200mm with a zoom lens. Plastic bags are useful to protect your equipment from rain and dust. Fresh film and camera batteries are difficult to obtain in the bush so bring your own! Most camps have video battery-recharging facilities, but please carry your own adapter and charger (often required to fit a vehicle cigarette lighter socket).

Binoculars are essential on safari in order to get the most out of your safari and especially where bird watching is concerned. It is also advisable to have a pair per person if at all possible - we recommend Leica 8 x 32, Zeiss Classic 7 x 42B or Plover 8 x 40.
