Victoria Falls Safari Lodge

Enjoying uninterrupted views of the most spectacular African sunsets and year round game at its on-site waterhole, the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is ideally positioned to offer a taste of Africa at its best. Designed to give the impression of a vast open-plan treehouse, the lodge is built on seven intricate levels rising above the pristine African bushveld. Attracting a wide variety of game including elephant, buffalo, antelope, warthog and baboon - as well as the occasional lion, hyena and jackal - this waterhole is the focal point of the entire resort and provides excellent game viewing opportunities.

Location:
Situated on a natural plateau, bordering the Zambezi National Park.

Accommodation and facilities:
Guests are accommodated in 72 bedrooms, 6 of which are split level suites with a lounge cloakroom and balcony on one level and a bedroom and en suite bathroom upstairs. Decorated in lavishly coloured ethnic fabrics and fittings, all rooms boast the highest level of sophistication and comfort. Each has its own private balcony overlooking the unfenced Zambezi national park while most look onto a central waterhole. The favourite “watering-hole” of many a guest is the buffalo bar. Situated in the main hub of the complex, this provides relaxed, congenial surroundings for viewing Africa’s incredible wildlife close-up. Two landscaped swimming pools and a game viewing platform are situated enticingly nearby.

Activities:
Activities here include game drives and walking safaris, canoeing, fishing and extensive birding and photographic opportunities. The lodge also offers guests wine tasting evenings and golf and game cruises.

Special attractions:
One of the most popular attractions here are the Elephant Back Safaris where guests can explore the magnificent bushveld from the saddle of an African elephant. Trips are available early morning, when a bush breakfast is served, or late afternoon, when guests can savour the magnificent sunsets while enjoying sundowners and snacks.
