Musango Safari Camp is a delightful and unique destination. Offering an abundance of wildlife from buffalo and elephant to the rare black rhino, Musango Safari Camp is also an ornithologist’s paradise with a myriad of birds to be seen frequenting the bird baths in front of the lodge and rooms.
Location:
Situated on its own island, just off the shoreline of the Matusadona National Park.
Accommodation and facilities:
Musango offers accommodation for sixteen guests in large and luxurious traditional safari tents - all under thatch and each with en suite bathrooms built out of natural stone. Each tent has a private front veranda offering guests panoramic views across the lake, of the Matusadona National Park and mountains. The communal building is a double storey traditional thatched structure that provides a home for the dining room, lounge, bar, viewing platform and a shaded swimming pool with commanding views of the lake.
Activities:
Activities include guided walks into the Matusadona National Park and the nearby Game Sanctuary to locate the rare black rhino. There is also game viewing by boat along the many inlets and creeks, and casual canoe paddling up adjacent creeks where bird life is prolific. The camp offers fishing and morning visits to the nearby village may also be arranged. The Black Rhino orphanage, close to Musango, is also a very popular attraction.
Special attractions:
Musango has many special attractions amongst which are; dinosaur fossil and early stone-age site visits and the highly popular specialised birding trips.
