The Hide is a safari lodge with a difference - one of the few camps to be actually situated inside Hwange National Park. A traditional tented safari camp, guests here enjoy an experience that combines some of the best game viewing in Zimbabwe with a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.
Location:
Situated in a large private concession on the eastern boundary of Hwange National Park.
Accommodation and facilities:
Guests are accommodated in ten East African style canvas tents, all with en suite shower and toilet facilities. There is a choice of a twin or double bedded tent and each has its own private veranda that looks out over the waterhole. The communal area comprises a large, thatched ’A’ frame dining room with an upstairs entertainment area that affords magnificent views of the pan. Meals are served around a large elegant solid teak dining table, exquisitely laid with candelabra, cut glass and silver cutlery. The Hide has earned a reputation over the years for its fine cuisine, which is often accompanied by the sight of a herd of elephant wandering down to drink at the waterhole!
Activities:
Activities here centre on the game that surrounds the camp and include morning and evening game drives in Hwange National Park as well as night drives and guided walks in the concession area.
Special attractions:
A special attraction here is the purpose built hides near the waterholes. These allow guests to have a bird’s eye view of all the visiting game and offer superb photographic opportunities.
