Little Makalolo is a compact traditionally tented camp in the heart of Hwange National Park and enjoys one of its best game viewing areas. It is one of the few camps located within the Park, and offers privacy for guests who enjoy small camps and a sense of remoteness.
Location:
Situated in the South Eastern section of Hwange National Park on a private concession.
Accommodation and facilities:
Each of the five tented rooms have en suite facilities that include a flush toilet and shower with hot and cold running water – they also have a refreshing outdoor shower under the stars. The communal area is under canvas and houses the dining room where guests can enjoy splendid meals and a lounge and pub for a relaxing drink after the day’s excursions. The camp also benefits from a small plunge pool.
Activities:
Activities at Little Makalolo centre on game viewing in open 4x4 vehicles throughout the Makalolo concession area, as well as walks with armed guides. The camp overlooks a small waterhole and guests can enjoy game viewing during the ’siesta’ hours in a tree house hide.
Special attractions:
The area is ecologically diverse and Makalolo is one of the best areas in the country for predators with buffalo and elephant also featuring regularly in the outstanding safari experience here.
