Linkwasha is divided into two luxury tented camps. It is set in a most delightful location in the middle of a vast plain overlooking the camp’s waterhole, allowing each guest superb, views from their rooms across the plains.
Location:
Situated in a private area in south-east Hwange National Park.
Accommodation and facilities:
Linkwasha is a fourteen bedded camp with Little Linkwasha offering accommodation for six guests. The rooms at both camps are expansive and very comfortable with tented walls under thatch and full en suite facilities, including a shower, basin and flush toilet, and an outside shower ’under the stars’. The delightfully appointed dining room, pub and lounge area are also under thatch with raised board walks connecting the main dining area with the rooms. In addition to the plunge pool, the camp has a viewing platform from which guests can enjoy the splendid views across the plains and the wildlife visiting the waterhole. There is also a curio shop and well stocked library.
Activities:
Activities include game drives in 4x4 Land Rovers and guided walks with an armed guide. There are also excellent birding and photographic opportunities.
Special attractions:
The area contains many diverse habitats including teak forests, palm islands, Kalahari savannah and acacia woodlands. The animal populations are equally diverse and the area attracts over 400 species of birds. During the winter months big game is abundant. During the summer, after the first rains, the camp is ideal for viewing a large influx of plains game when eland, zebra, giraffe and wildebeest arrive in large concentrations to feed off the new grasses and shrubs on the plains, closely followed by the predators.
