Sitting imposingly on the banks of the Zambezi, the Royal Livingstone Hotel is named in tribute to the explorer Dr David Livingstone and echoes perfectly the romance and charm of the era when he embarked upon his renowned adventures. The hotel consists of seventeen colonial-style buildings set amidst indigenous trees in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Wildlife Park and although it is expansive in size, it still maintains the highest standards of personal attention and individual service.
All rooms are luxuriously furnished, with freshly cut flowers, crisp white linen and large comfortable beds. Each room has satellite TV, a mini bar, safe, telephone and tea and coffee-making facilities. Bathrooms feature spacious showers and Victorian baths. All guestrooms are air-conditioned, providing a cool sanctuary to retire to after a busy day spent exploring the Victoria Falls and the surrounding area.
At the Royal Livingstone you can enjoy leisurely breakfasts or ‘alfresco’ lunches on the veranda overlooking the hotel lawns and the mighty Zambezi River. Traditional high tea is served daily in the lounge. For a romantic end to the day, sundowners are taken on the scenic decks prior to a sumptuous dinner taken in the exquisite dining room or on your own private balcony. For honeymooners, or for those celebrating a special occasion, the hotel can arrange a special candle-lit dinner under the star-filled sky.
There is a host of activities for you to enjoy in the area including game drives, river cruises, elephant back safaris and adventure sports such as white water rafting. Back at the hotel you can curl up on the shaded veranda with a book from the well-stocked library or relax on the timber deck above the swirling water of the Zambezi River.
