Taking its name from David Livingstone’s two faithful friends, Sanctuary Sussi and Chuma consists of an intimate lodge and two spacious two-bedroomed villas, in an enchanting river-bank setting. Sussi Lodge and Chuma Houses provide the perfect base for excursions to view the Victoria Falls, trips around the National Park, some fishing in the Zambezi, riverboat cruises or simply relaxing after a busy safari in the bush.

Location:
Situated on the banks of the Zambezi, upstream from Victoria Falls.

Accommodation and facilities:
Guests are accommodated in twelve luxury tree-houses and two two-bedroomed villas, built into the living canopy of giant ebony trees lining the bank. All accommodation offers private views of the mighty Zambezi River and is equipped with en suite facilities, air conditioning, mini bar, mosquito nets and overhead fans. The main lodge building features a spectacular raised bar/lounge deck, open air dining area, curio shop, swimming pool and lawns sweeping down to the water’s edge. Meals are table d’hôte with a large selection of dishes, served alfresco, often around a campfire in the evening.

Activities:
Guest can enjoy game drives in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park where Zambia’s only white rhino can be spotted or picturesque early morning or sunset river cruises on a twelve seat boat.

Special attractions:
Cultural tours of Livingstone including a visit to the Museum and the Simonga Village are available as well as a guided tour of the Victoria Falls and rain forest on the Zambian Side. A shopping Tour in Livingstone Town also provides an opportunity to experience the local flavour of Livingstone. Guests may also enjoy fishing in the Zambezi River.
