Situated on the edge of a seasonal lagoon and with the Chindeni Hills as a backdrop, Luangwa Safari House has been skilfully built around a main frame of two dozen ancient Leadwood trees.
Location:
Situated in Nkwali in the South Luangwa National Park.
Accommodation and facilities:
Guests are accommodated on two floors in four exquisite bedrooms with extra large beds. The beds have all been designed differently, from two poster beds to beds suspended by chains from the roof. Each room has a differently themed bathroom reflecting the colours of the room - from copper for the ’Coral room’ (including a hand made copper bath) to recycled sandblasted aluminium in the ’Blue Agate’ bedroom. These fittings have been matched with unusual pieces of Zambian marble. The upstairs rooms have a suspended wooden balcony, where you can sit out at night with a moonlit view over the bush to the distant hills. The downstairs bedrooms each have a private tiled veranda with large chairs for quiet moments. Meals are taken in the dining room or al fresco on the terrace. There is a swimming pool, game viewing deck and butler service to cater for all your needs.
Activities:
Activities here give you a choice of short walking safaris, 4x4 game safaris and night drives with your own expert safari guide. This allows you to set your own schedule, eating when it suits you and arranging your own timetable of safari activities. This flexibility if particularly well-suited to family safaris with children, but is also great for groups of friends who are travelling together. All walking safaris are accompanied by an armed game ranger, as well as a fully-qualified guide.
Special attractions:
The entrance to the house is through a massive door which opens into the huge main room where guests are instantly treated to breathtaking views of elephants bathing in the lagoon.
