Set perfectly within the shade of huge fig trees, Shumba is a luxurious and welcoming camp offering guests a unique safari experience in the very heart of some of Zambia’s finest wildlife wilderness. The camp is built on raised decks and overlooks the floodplain where you will be treated to the sight of large buffalo herds and rare lechwe, intermingled with puku, crested and wattled cranes.!
Location:
Situated in the north western corner of the Kafue National Park, in the Busanga Plains area.
Accommodation and facilities:
Shumba comprises six spacious luxury safari tents on raised platforms, all offering breathtaking views of the surrounding plains. All have indoor and “star lit” showers, toilet and hand basin. A maximum of twelve guests can be accommodated at any one time, ensuring truly personalised and individual levels of attention. The dining and bar areas are also elevated to allow splendid views of the plains.
Activities:
Activities include game drives, walking safaris, guided canoe and boating trips as well as fishing. Night drives provide the added excitement of the nocturnal wonders of the area.
