Semliki Safari Lodge is a member of Classic Safari Camps of Africa - a handpicked collection of the most reputable owner-operated safari camps and lodges in some of the most beautiful wildlife areas in Africa. Built out of local materials, the lodge has a traditional rustic style. It is the only accommodation in over 200 square miles of wilderness, and offers guests a truly memorable safari experience.

Location:
Situated in the Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve in the Western Rift Valley.

Accommodation and facilities:
Guest accommodation is comprised of large canvas tents with permanent thatched roofs. Each tent includes an en suite bathroom with running water and a private veranda with a stunning panoramic view. Hand carved four poster beds draped in muslin, Persian carpets and other soft touches ensure that this is the ultimate in ’bush chic’. The central area has large and comfortable sofas piled with cushions and plenty of lounging space. While at the lodge you may choose to do nothing more than relax by the pool which overlooks the Blue Mountains of the Congo, or partake in a number of activities.

Activities:
There are many activities to enjoy here including day and night game drives, chimpanzee tracking, guided walks and hiking, jungle walks, excellent fishing and birding and visits to local communities.

Special attractions:
A big part of this lodge project is the conservation of the Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve. When the owners first arrived in 1992, the park had been so badly poached that it faced losing its status as a park. Now, with persistent efforts by staff, the Wildlife Authority and the surrounding communities, the Reserve is healing. Guests can take comfort in the knowledge that their very presence in the Reserve is helping to protect and heal one of Uganda’s first protected areas.
