Jacana Safari Lodge is set dramatically on the edge of a crater lake and is a uniquely designed tree house lodge sympathetically constructed using only natural materials of local rock, gum poles, wood and rope. This is a place to relax in comfort and tranquility whilst enjoying the delights of some of the most stunning vistas dotted with crystal clear crater lakes.

Situated in the heart of Maramagambo Forest on the edge of Lake Nyamusingiri.
Accommodation and facilities:
Guests are accommodated in seven luxurious log-built chalets which nestle amongst dense foliage. Each is fully en suite and boasts an enclosed veranda with large panoramic windows offering views of the Crater Lake. Here, guests can enjoy al fresco meals, chilled sundowners or early morning tea or coffee. The central area houses the delightfully cosy Virunga Lounge with its large comfortable sofas centred on a huge fireplace. Meals here are exquisite with guests enjoying special candlelit dinners in the Fish Eagle Bar, situated on the jetty, close to the water’s edge. The Lodge is completed by a swimming pool with poolside bar and a sauna.
Activities:
Jacana offers visitors a range of interesting and diverse activities including guided forest and crater walks, extensive bird watching walks, gondola and lake canoeing, game drives, bat cave visits, sundowner cruises, chimpanzee viewing, fishing and cultural village visits.
