Nile Safari Camp nestles amongst rich papyrus forest on the Southern banks of the River Nile, enjoying stunning views across Murchison National Park. This tranquil and superbly appointed camp offers a choice of wooden traditional chalets and luxury double tents skilfully positioned to allow guests privacy. This is a place that has been sympathetically designed to allow guests to be close to nature without destroying the environment and the delicate balance with its natural inhabitants.
Location:
Situated on the edge of the Victoria Nile in Murchison Falls National Park.
Accommodation and facilities:
Accommodation is comprised of six log chalets and six luxury tents, all en suite with showers and flush toilets. Each of the superbly appointed rooms offers a spacious private balcony facing the Nile where guests can enjoy a chilled sun-downer or early morning tea and coffee served by their own personal waiter. Delicious traditional meals are taken in the central dining room and drinks are enjoyed in the ’Tamarind Bar’ which is shaded by a giant tree supporting a suspended veranda that offers magnificent vistas of the Nile. The camp is completed by an open fire that has been strategically positioned to allow guests to enjoy star gazing and a crystal clear swimming pool in which to cool off after an exhilarating game drive.
Activities:
Here you can enjoy a variety of activities including bird watching, guided nature walks and boat cruises or for a more sedentary experience - simply enjoy the total relaxation of watching hippos and crocodiles from your private veranda.
Special attractions:
One of the most interesting experiences available here is a visit to the local Mubaku village where you will gain an insight into the local way of life. These are coordinated through The Earthworks Foundation and allow additional income-generating activities for the village so they benefit directly from Nile Safari Camp.
