Sitting in glorious isolation on Mnemba Island, off the north coast of Zanzibar, Mnemba Island Lodge is a romantic and exclusive retreat providing guests with a tropical barefoot paradise of spectacular coral reefs, gentle sea breezes and pristine white beaches. This little piece of paradise offers sublime accommodation in the form of ten woven and thatched palm leaf Zanzibari bandas all with en suite bathrooms including shower, double-basins and separate toilet, ceiling fans and a spacious outdoor veranda. Each banda also has a private beach sala with traditional Zanzibari sunbeds and direct access to the beach.
The thatched dining and lounge bar areas have beautiful open views of the beach and the spectacular coral reefs beyond. The lodge is renowned for its superlative cuisine, with baskets of fresh fruit, fish, lobsters, crabs and prawns being brought in daily on traditional ngalawa outriggers to be magically turned in to exotic delicacies. Romantic candle-lit dinners are enjoyed on the beach with the waves gently lapping at your feet with lunch usually served on large wooden carved Zanzibar platters heaped with delicious mezze.
