Nestled in a beautiful acacia forest enclave at the edge of the gently rolling savannah in a remote corner of south western Tarangire National Park, Sanctuary Swala Camp is exceptionally private and a real ’hidden gem’. This picturesque safari hideaway, offers guests total wilderness luxury and a privileged glimpse of an Africa untrammelled by tourism. Throughout your stay you will be serenaded by the resident wildlife, including impala, waterbuck, lion and various elephant groups. There is even a resident leopard that puts in the occasional guest appearance at the waterhole during dinner.

Located in a remote pocket of Tarangire National Park, Swala is sited in a copse of majestic acacia trees at the edge of the Gurusi wetlands.
Accommodation and facilities:
Accommodation consists of nine private, permanent tents all of which feature en suite bathrooms and showers, complemented by fittings and fixtures crafted from local materials. Each tent has a private terrace overlooking the bush and the nearby waterhole. Meals are taken in the comfortable dining tent, with full silver service, Pan-African cuisine and fine wines. There is a delightful lounge affording spectacular views from its wooden deck and a library.

Game viewing in open vehicles, extensive birding, guided walks, excursions in Tarangire National Park and to the local village.
Special attractions:
With the camp waterhole being such a big game attraction in the dry season (June to November), it is a perfect place to get safely ’up close and personal’ with a variety of wildlife. Elephants are ever present and often lions come for a welcome ’drink’! In addition, leopard and pythons often inhabit the trees.
