Oliver’s Camp is a small and exclusive oasis of charm and luxury sitting deep in the heart of the Tarangire wilderness and is renowned for offering its guests an unparalleled bush experience. Here you will enjoy a truly ’atmospheric’ safari, with the emphasis on slowing down, walking and observing the wilderness of Africa. You will seek out ancient rock paintings, walk along elephant paths to water holes, climb rocky outcrops to view the sunrise or sunset, or just relax and soak up the view. Oliver’s is a very special camp where you will immediately start to understand ’how Africa was meant to be’.
Location:
Located in the game rich wilderness area at the southern end of Tarangire National Park, to the east of Silale swamp.
Accommodation and facilities:
Caters for a maximum of sixteen guests in eight, beautifully furnished walk-in tents. Each is either a twin with two large single beds or a double, all with bathroom and shower. The dining area and spacious sitting area are also tented with comfortable chairs and are an ideal retreat after the enjoyment of the day. There is a roaring camp fire at night outside the main mess tent where sundowners and pre-dinner drinks are served.
Activities:
Oliver’s is well placed for 4x4 open sided, game drives into the main park as well as the wilderness area where in some places off road driving is allowed. As well as game drives, guests can take walks accompanied by experienced and knowledgeable armed guides, who have unrivalled local knowledge of the area.
Special attractions:
In addition to the short morning or afternoon walks from the camp (usually two to three hours) Oliver’s also offer three day walking safaris in the wilderness area combined with fly camping at night.
