Sayari offers you the ultimate Serengeti spectacle – it is ideally located at the Mara river allowing guests to witness the world famous river crossing by the migration – the largest concentration of wildlife in the world when the vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and other migratory mammals move across the Mara river from Tanzania into Kenya. Sayari Camp is permanently located at the Mara river, however half of the camp moves down onto the Southern Serengeti plains in the Moru Kopjes area to give access there to the migration giving birth in the months December to March.
Location:
The camp is located all year round at the Mara river in the north of the Serengeti, with half in the southern plains in December to March.
Accommodation and facilities:
A total of eight, very spacious, beautifully decorated guest tents with king sized beds, en suite bathrooms with flush toilets and double basins and private veranda. The central area at Sayari houses the lounge and restaurant tent which affords gourmet food and spectacular views of the wilderness.
Activities:
Whilst following the great herds, guests can take part in walking safaris, open vehicle day and night game drives, interaction with local cultures (Maasai and Wakuria) and birding.
Special attractions:
Sayari Camp is the only permanent camp in this vast Mara river area. Consequently, off-road game driving is allowed, offering guests one of the most thrilling safari experiences in the whole of Tanzania. Sayari was also chosen as one of the ’special places in Africa’ by Africa Geographic.
