Situated within the predator-rich plains of the Serengeti beneath a canopy cluster of kopjes, Sanctuary Kusini Camp is an oasis of charm and tranquillity amongst the grass plains that provide the setting for the most spectacular natural phenomenon in the continent of Africa, the wildebeest migration. The camp is often referred to as ’your own private Serengeti’ and with its combination of personal attention, luxury, breathtaking wildlife and scenery it really lives up to its name!
Location:
Kusini is located in the southern area of the Serengeti National Park.
Accommodation and facilities:
Accommodation is offered in twelve double tents which are scattered around the main kopje. Attended by a personal butler, each tent has full en suite facilities, an elevated private terrace overlooking the Serengeti plains and comfortable furnishings extending in front of each unit. The dining area, lounge and library are housed in the main public area, which affords spectacular views from its wooden deck.
Activities:
Day and night game drives, photography, birding, star gazing and atmospheric campfire dinners.
Special attractions:
A unique activity has been developed at Sanctuary Kusini where guests can contribute to the Serengeti Cheetah Project by monitoring the cheetah of this vast national park. Venture out into this remote region of the Serengeti with an expert guide in search of cheetah. Your guide will introduce you to the cheetah's habitat and teach you how to correctly identify and photograph the cheetah you spot and record their behaviour and location. Your contribution to the project could uncover new movement patterns and aid development of conservation programs.
