In the quiet seclusion of an idyllic valley in the western corridor of the Serengeti, overlooking a bywater of the Grumeti river where wildebeest plunge though the waters on their annual migration, Grumeti Camp offers the true tastes of a traditional African safari combined with an unashamed taste of luxury. It is built amongst tall evergreen trees on the water’s edge where families of grunting hippo float amongst a carpet of water lilies and giant crocodiles wait motionlessly for their next unsuspecting prey. Situated in the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park, overlooking a tributary of the Grumeti river.
Accommodation and facilities:
An intimate assembly of ten, brightly coloured thatched tents. Each twin-bedded tent comes complete with en-suite bathroom. There is an open-air covered dining area where delicious Pan-African cuisine – prepared on traditional ‘jikos’ (fires) or in stone ovens is served. Yoruba beaded antique artefacts adorn the sitting areas and domed bar with the spacious decks being perfect for relaxing sundowners overlooking the water. The camp also has a round plunge pool and galleried safari shop.

Migration viewing, 4x4 open sided vehicle game drives, guided walking safaris, birding and cultural visits to local village.

From Grumeti the game drives explore the Serengeti savannahs and woodlands, which have the largest mass of free-ranging animals on earth and the banks of a bywater of the Grumeti river which offer exceptional crocodile and hippo activity.
