Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is a compact, yet luxurious camp that settles peacefully within the heart of a beautiful mahogany forest and is the only lodge in the Lake Manyara National Park. The Lodge offers privacy and exclusivity in cool, leafy surroundings that instantly infuse the visitor with feelings of intimacy and romance. In fact, it was these beautiful vistas and surrounds that inspired the Ernest Hemingway novel ’Green Hills of Africa’ which he wrote following a month long safari in the area in 1933.

Situated in the remote south-western region of the Lake Manyara National Park.
Accommodation and facilities:
Accommodates twenty guests in ten stilted, elegantly furnished tree-house suites constructed from timber and makuti (palm fronds), with timber walls and floors. Each have twin beds which can be converted into doubles, all are en suite and have a private game viewing deck. The communal area is intimate and overlooks a forest boma with an interactive kitchen. Dining is superb with delicious Pan-African cuisine being taken either on private decks or at a lakeside sala which is equally perfect for sundowners and picnics. The lodge also has a safari shop and an excellent swimming pool.

Morning and afternoon game drives and excellent birding and photographic opportunities.
Special attractions:
The area boasts a wide variety of wildlife including the elusive tree climbing lions and a huge density of baboons with troops numbering up to two hundred. Whilst enjoying their stay here, guests are introduced to the history of the Park and to the local legend of Ian Douglas Hamilton and his renowned research into elephants.
