Rhino Post Safari Lodge is located in 12,000 hectares of pristine and breathtaking bushveld in the Kruger National Park. The environmentally sensitive concession is largely unexplored, with a huge diversity of both fauna and flora. Set on the banks of the Mutlumuvi Riverbed on the Southern end of the concession, Rhino Post is an elegant and spacious lodge built using natural materials of stone, wood, thatch and canvas. The emphasis here is upon creating an authentic safari experience whilst offering guests the highest levels of personal service and luxury amenities.
Location:
Located in the lowveld region, just north of Skukuza, in the Kruger National Park.
Accommodation and facilities:
Accommodation consists of eight exquisite suites raised on stilts allowing guests to view the Mutlumuvi riverbed with ease from the bedroom, bathroom and private wooden deck. The suites are set out in an open plan style with wooden floors, thatched roofs, canvas walls and a ceiling fan. The dining area, set under tamboti trees, allows for al fresco dinners, cool lunches in the heat of a summer afternoon and snug winter dining. Riverbed dinners and breakfasts are a wonderful, alternative bush experience. Both the swimming pool and lounge overlook an active waterhole in the riverbed.
Activities:
Activities here include morning and evening game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, ’sleep outs’, specialist safaris for bird, tree and flower enthusiasts and golf at the nearby Skukuza Golf course.
Special Attractions:
Kruger National Park is one of the premier game-watching destinations in the world and at Rhino Post it is possible to see all the classical African big game including elephant, black and white rhino, hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, warthog and many antelope species. Large carnivores include lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and spotted hyena. Kruger has a list of almost 500 bird species.
