Garonga is a sanctuary of harmony and sensitivity that allows guests to gain a true understanding of the magnificent wilderness and abundant wildlife that surrounds it. Garonga’s holistic philosophy is to offer a safari for the soul within an unhurried and intimate wildlife encounter – a time to reflect and find inspiration in nature and a pristine wilderness. The wide variety of game at Garonga ensures that guests are pleasantly surprised at what they see, as well as how close the animals are when they are sighted.

Location:
Situated in the secluded and private Makalali Conservancy in the Limpopo Province.

Accommodation and facilities:
Garonga’s six luxury tented suites nestle into ebony trees on the banks of a water course and command beautiful views. Each suite has solid walls, a wooden deck and canvas roof, with indoor and outdoor showers. The Hambleden Suite offers luxurious accommodation and privacy in exceptional surroundings. The Suite contains an ebony four-poster bed with an en-suite bathroom, which includes a hand-beaten copper bath and matching basins. The Suite also has an outdoor shower, as well as a private pool and deck. Camp amenities include an open-plan living area, wine cellar, curio shop and swimming pool as well as a special sala for aromatherapy sessions.

Activities:
Activities include game drives, wilderness walks, sleep-outs, outdoor bush-baths and aromatherapy and reflexology sessions. Birding and photography opportunities are exceptional.

Special Attractions:
For a truly magical experience, guests may sleep out on a beautiful deck with stunning views overlooking the Veldt. A sumptuous picnic hamper, a drinks box, and hot drinks are provided at the deck and there is a wash basin and toilet close by. The deck is twenty minutes drive from the main camp and is a truly authentic wilderness adventure!
