Hidden amongst a canopy of indigenous trees between the coastal towns of Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, Tsala Tree Top Lodge is an extraordinarily unique and inspirational retreat offering guests an unrivalled haven of privacy and comfort. An ingenious arrangement of meandering, elevated wooden walkways connects the main lodge with ten exclusive suites, each skilfully crafted to provide the ultimate in contemporary luxury and innovative ’tree top’ accommodation.

Each private suite boasts an exquisite bedroom and lounge and en suite facilities that centre on a huge freestanding double bath tub. To complete the picture, a private wooden deck around each suite, holds a rim flow plunge pool affording spectacular views across the treetops into the broad valley below.

The main lodge is entered through a magnificent foyer, leading to a cosy lounge featuring handcrafted furnishings and fittings reflecting the skills and traditions of Africa. To relax and contemplate this historic setting there is a library containing many reference books on the area and its fascinating history.

Dinner is taken on suspended decks overlooking the forest and valley below and is a fusion of imaginative cuisine that reflects the diversity of South African cultures, all accompanied by a wide selection of the finest South African wines.

Tsala Tree Top Lodge is well placed for a variety of leisure activities. The coastal resort towns of Knysna and Plettenberg Bay offer wonderful sandy beaches, whale and dolphin watching from the shore or boat, canoeing and sea kayaking and horse riding. There are also forest trails to explore and excellent birding opportunities and it is within easy reach of the primate haven of Monkeyland.
