The twenty one, thatched luxury cottages and suites at Hunter’s guarantee comfort and privacy. The luxurious individually decorated suites are all furnished with antiques, have open fire places and private patios. The four Premier Suites offer even greater levels of comfort with their position and size, as well as mini bars and under-floor heating. The ultimate being the Forest Suite with its separate dining room, lounge, butler’s kitchen, and private swimming pool.
The gracious original thatched, 100 year old homestead, houses beautifully appointed candle-lit dining rooms, elegant lounges with log-fireplace, a library and sun drenched breakfast room. Polished brasses around an inglenook fireplace, low beamed ceilings, gleaming silverware on an oak sideboard, and outside, a beautifully manicured garden with poppies, lavender and rose covered trellises have made Hunter’s an award winning country retreat.
On the estate you may enjoy scenic garden walks and forest trails and admire the many birds that have made their home here, or simply spend time sunbathing around the pool. Tennis, golf, fishing, water sports and beautiful beaches are available nearby. Five golf courses are within easy access of the estate, while the golden beaches of Plettenberg Bay lie just 10 minutes away. A host of other activities are available in the form of birding, forest trails, horse-riding, deep-sea fishing, sailing, canoeing, mountain-biking and tennis.
Hunters Country House welcomes children of all ages and has a recreation area, including a shallow swimming pool, games room and thatch-covered sandpit, especially for them.
