Blaauwbosch Private Game Reserve is a 5-Star Lodge in Blaauwbosch - an exclusive 'big five' private game reserve set in the heart of the foothills of the Winterhoek mountain range in the Karoo. The reserve offers a private African wildlife safari experience where guests can relax in comfort and style whilst discovering a wide variety of game including lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, antelope, abundant birdlife and rare flora. This is a place of breathtaking natural beauty.
Location:
Situated in the Karoo, close to the Addo Elephant Park in the Eastern Cape.
Accommodation and facilities:
Guests stay in a collection of seven thatched roof chalets, all individually designed and appointed. Each is expansive and is fully air-conditioned with personal dressing rooms, full bathrooms, verandas and mountain views. The cuisine is inspirational, as is the dining room where it is enjoyed - with the emphasis of the dinner menu on African cuisine with fresh contemporary flavours. Pre-dinner cocktails can be taken in the lounge or around the swimming pool, both of which afford magnificent views of the glorious surrounding countryside.
Activities:
Two game drives per day in open game viewing vehicles, guided bush walks under the supervision of a ranger, extensive birding, star gazing, boma barbeques and Karoo drives.
Special attractions:
The walk-and-stalk cheetah encounters are one of the many highlights of a stay at Blaauwbosch, involving shadowing the fastest of all land hunters as it stalks its prey!
