In an idyllic corner of Praslin Island, hidden amongst palms and surrounded by dense wooded hills, is the resort of Lemuria. Sensitively and quite beautifully designed to blend in with its outstanding natural setting, at Lemuria you will immediately experience the epitome of ’castaway chic’ as you amble through the palms that lead you down to a placid lagoon and the three pristine beaches which flank the hotel.
With the emphasis on privacy and intimacy, each of the thatched-roof suites are dotted along the beach and scattered among the palm groves. The Junior Suites all face the Indian Ocean and are designed in minimalist, yet luxurious style with ceiling fan, large bathroom and a terrace with sun lounge chairs in the shade of overhanging palm trees.
The Senior Suites are all exceptionally spacious. Each lavishly appointed room has a separate lounge with extra shower/toilet and a double size terrace.
In addition, there are eight two bedroom villas with lounge, dining kiosk, massage kiosk, pool deck, open-air bath, terrace and private swimming pool. For that extra touch of luxury Lemuria also offers a three bedroom Presidential Villa with a private pool, pool deck, dining room and executive office. All villas are serviced by a qualified Villa Master.
The resort offers three restaurants - the Legend, the Sea Horse at the Club House and a beach bar that offers fresh seafood. Each perfectly reflects the culinary history of the island of Praslin and all pride themselves on the quality of the food, wines and superb service.
A boathouse is the base for most of the leisure activities which include trips to the neighbouring islands. There is a lovely cascading swimming pool in three tiers, tennis courts and a superb health club – Shiseido Pavilion and beauty centre – which offers a wide range of invigorating treatments and personalised health programmes. Guests can also enjoy an 18-hole championship golf course, the first in the Seychelles, which has been especially designed to make full use of the challenging landscape of Praslin.
