This family run lodge and foundation lies north of Windhoek, close to Otjiwarongo. The lodge is also the home of the well-known AfriCat Foundation, a non-profit organisation working in the interests of the endangered Namibian large carnivore population. A visit to Okonjima will give you the opportunity to witness some of AfriCat’s work with cheetahs, leopards and lions whilst you enjoy the finest levels of accommodation, unrivalled personal service and the outstanding cuisine.
Okonjima offers a wide range of accommodation including ten comfortable rooms at the Main Camp, eight African-style chalets at Okonjima Bush Camp and the luxurious Bush Suite and Villa. Both the Bush Suite and Villa have private infinity pools overlooking a natural water-hole.
Activities include cheetah radio tracking on foot in the rehabilitation area. Orphaned cheetah viewing is also included in the daily activities. Leopards are monitored daily and radio-tracked from game-viewing vehicles giving guests the chance to watch these magnificent predators from the safety of a hide or from the vehicle.
