Kulala Wilderness Camp is built at the foot of a rock escarpment that faces west affording fabulous sunset views in the mountainous eco-system of this area. On the edge of the oldest desert in the world, wildlife here is sparse but fascinating, with sightings of animals such as springbok, gemsbok, ostrich, bat-eared fox and aardwolf being a truly memorable and exciting experience in such rugged conditions. The towering sand dunes, said to be the highest in the world, that rise dramatically over 1000 feet above the surrounding plains at Sossusvlei and the spectacle of changing colours and the lonely gemsbok silhouetted against red dunes is one which visitors here will savour long after their departure!
