Mowani is taken from the word M’Wane, meaning “Place of God”. Mowani Mountain Camp nestles amongst the boulders of this beautiful area on a high spot commanding distant views over the ancient landscape.
Location:
Situated between the Ugab and the Huab Rivers in southern Damaraland.
Accommodation and facilities:
Guests are accommodated in twelve luxury ensuite safari tents, built on raised wooden platforms, each with its own private veranda and fabulous views of the Aba-Huab Valley. The main complex comprises a reception area, bar, dining room and lounge overlooking the waterhole. The Suite at Mowani is the ultimate retreat, being built high upon a rocky outcrop affording splendid views from every room. This luxury thatched suite comes complete with butler service and is tastefully furnished with a distinct African flavour. The private lounge is equipped with a music centre and satellite television and complemented by private dining and bar facilities. There is also a fitness centre, spa and a delightful swimming pool.
Activities:
Activities include guided nature drives in search of the elusive desert elephant and guided hikes through the magnificent scenery.

Guests can enjoy an excursion to Twyfelfontein - this is a wonderful archaeological site offering over 2,500 Bushmen engravings and paintings.
