The Caprivi Strip is a 250 mile long, narrow strip of land in the far north east of Namibia. Germany exchanged the area with the United Kingdom for Zanzibar in 1890 and it is largely unexplored by tourists today. One of the main attractions of the strip is the prolific birdlife. Many of the birds recorded here are endemic to this area. Other activities include exploring the various rivers, providing some great fishing and excellent game viewing with good regular sightings of the elusive wild dog.
Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park are just a couple of popular destinations that are easily accessible from the Caprivi Strip. There are numerous lodges in the Caprivi Strip that provide luxury standards of accommodation.
