Mvuu Wilderness Lodge is an intimate and secluded camp that nestles discreetly within thick riverine vegetation on the banks of the Shire River in one of the most delightful settings in the Liwonde National Park. The lodge boasts a backdrop of indigenous fever trees and is surrounded by an excellent diversity of animals - including large numbers of elephant and sable antelope, hippo, impala and waterbuck – which allows guests superb photographic opportunities.

Location:
Situated along the banks of the Shire River in Liwonde National Park.

Accommodation and facilities:
Mvuu offers guests exclusive accommodation in five spacious and luxurious tents. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom and a raised private veranda looking out over the lagoon, ensuring prime wildlife viewing. The lodge communal facilities include an excellent dining room, fully complemented by a pub and very comfortable lounge area. For a refreshing dip, there is a delightful swimming pool which is made of natural rock and is surrounded by a deck of fragrant Mulanje cedar.

Activities:
Activities include boating, game drives (morning, afternoon and evening), guided nature walks and extensive birding.

Special attractions:
Birdlife here is prolific, especially along the Shire River, where the African Fish Eagle and the Pel’s Fishing Owl are frequently sighted, as well as Böhm’s Bee-eater, White Backed Night Heron and a host of local ’specials’.
