This charming colonial style hotel is situated in a beautifully secluded setting on the picturesque shores of Lake Malawi, approximately seventy miles from Lilongwe International Airport. Here the only sounds to be heard are the haunting cries of the fish eagle and the lapping of the water and it is the ideal place to relax after an energetic safari or equally the perfect starting point from which to anticipate the adventures to come!
The Livingstonia offers guests superb accommodation in a range of thirty two colonial styled thatched rondavels which are set in semi-tropical gardens where guests can simply step out of the door onto a mile of their own private beach. Each of the large rooms is individually decorated, and all are fully en suite and have a range of amenities that include colour satellite TV.
Meals here are taken In the exquisite beamed restaurant where amongst the beautifully prepared dishes on the menu, the speciality is fresh fish from the lake. During the day, lighter meals are served on the well-shaded terrace around the swimming pool where you can enjoy a cooling tropical cocktail while you soak up the sun.
The hotel has a well stocked library and offers a range of activities which include tennis, water-skiing and boats for hire. One of the particular attractions here are the boat excursions to the hippo pools and a tropical fish farm.
