Surrounded by mango trees and ancient baobabs, Kaya Mawa Lodge - which translates as ’maybe tomorrow’ in the local Tonga dialect - uses the stunning natural surroundings of beach, rock, island and lake to create a luxurious haven.

Location:
Situated on Likoma Island in the north east of Lake Malawi very close to the Mozambique shores of the Lake.

Accommodation and facilities:
Guests are accommodated in ten stone and teak-framed thatched cottages set into a granite headland. Kaya Mawa’s main building is situated high on a rocky promontory overlooking the lake. The honeymoon island is located out into the lake and, depending on prevailing water levels, is accessed by boat or by swimming. Each room has a raised four poster mahogany bed, sunken bath, shower and loo, fans, and outside seating area. On the main promontory there is a bar, a delightful dining room and a rock pool for cooling down after the activities of the day.

Activities:
Activities centre around walking or biking around the island, swimming and snorkelling, diving and motorised watersports. Waterskiing, tube riding and wake snaking are offered as well as fishing trips.

Special attractions:
The atmosphere at Kaya Mawa is one of complete relaxation and indulgence – there is no real schedule here at all. You do what you want, when you want to do it …………….
