Set in tranquil tropical gardens, just a short distance from the city’s main business and shopping district, The Norfolk is Nairobi’s only country hotel and few hotels anywhere can claim a more romantic history. Over the decades, since its inception in 1904, visitors such as American President Theodore Roosevelt, Lord Baden-Powell, the Earl of Warwick, Lord and Lady Cranworth, and the Baron and Baroness von Blixen have all been part of this classic Edwardian hotel’s history.
Today, the hotel comprises 167 luxuriously furnished air-conditioned guest rooms, made up of standard, deluxe and superior rooms, and suites. All are fully en suite with bath and overhead showers, flush toilets, washbasin and hot and cold running water. Room service is available 24 hours, and offers a choice of two menus.
The hotel boasts a variety of excellent dining facilities and bars - The Lord Delamere Restaurant, Terrace and Bar have always the hub of Nairobi’s social life and maintain that reputation to this day. The new Hibiscus Lounge and Bar offers morning coffee, a lunch snack menu and traditional English afternoon teas, whilst the newly refurbished Ibis restaurant is renowned for its succulent, gourmet menus and hospitable atmosphere
