Hemingways is a 74 room resort hotel overlooking the stunning beach of Watamu Marine Park. The ambience of the hotel is of relaxed elegance and sophistication, combined with the friendliness of a privately owned hotel and the facilities and standards of an international resort. Overlooking a beach that was voted by the Sunday Times as being one of the top ten beaches in the world, this is a place to enjoy the ultimate tropical African experience!

Hemingway’s rooms and suites are elegantly designed and furnished with the emphasis firmly placed upon comfort and style. Various accommodation options are available, which include economy rooms, superior rooms, deluxe rooms, and suites. Each room overlooks the turquoise sea and includes full air-conditioning, ceiling fan, private en suite bathrooms with bath accessories, hairdryer, coffee/tea maker, secluded and private patio or balcony, refrigerator, mini bar, and veranda.

Food is taken very seriously here and the chefs offer a wide range of international styles, ranging from sophisticated recipes with delicate sauces to simple cooking of the finest ingredients. Having their own farms at Lake Naivasha and Timau in Nanyuki, fresh vegetables are flown in on a daily basis, whilst the hotel’s own fishing boats bring fresh fish for the kitchen. Over the centuries the influences of the trading routes have brought a medley of cooking styles to Africa.

Activities are plentiful and you can enjoy diving, fishing, snorkelling, windsurfing, water skiing, tennis, volleyball, swimming in the hotel’s two superb pools, a fully fitted gymnasium and extensive excursion trips. Hemingways also has two dhows moored in Mida creek which may be used for picnics, bird watching and sundowner cruises. Hemingways is also internationally recognised for its excellent bluewater fishing.
