Playing host to just eight guests, Zarafa Camp (the old Zibadianja Camp) enjoys a wide and enviable reputation for providing exclusive and intimate hospitality. Built on a palm island and surrounded by wonderful open savannah, the camp provides you with a very personal and incomparable opportunity to see the Selinda Reserve in all its natural glory.
Location:
Situated in the extreme eastern sector of the Selinda Reserve, overlooking the vast savannas and floodplains of the Zibadianja Lagoon.
Accommodation and facilities:
Four spacious Marquis-style safari tents with shaded verandas, each with private plunge pool, comfortable lounge, ensuite bathroom, flush toilet and shower. The lounge and dining facilities of the main area are all under canvas and are situated to take full advantage of the surrounding views and wildlife viewing.
Activities:
Morning, afternoon and night time game drives, accompanied short walks from camp and on game drives, photography and birding. Activities at Zarafa are flexible and there is no set routine, although drives are scheduled to take the best advantage of wildlife activity.
Special attractions:
Siesta time at Zarafa is best spent at one of the elevated hides at the edge of the waterhole, watching the wide variety of plains game and predators that arrive to drink. Walking is also encouraged and can be either a short walk from camp or a full morning’s activity.
