Amongst a cluster of tall and ancient African Ebony and Marula trees on the shady banks of the Kwando River Lagoon Camp sits peacefully, watched only by the gaze of the resident hippos. This is the picture that greets you as you arrive at what many people describe as one of the most beautiful settings of any safari camp in Africa.
Location:
Lagoon Camp is situated on the banks of the Kwando River in the private Kwando Reserve.
Accommodation and facilities:
Accommodation for sixteen guests in eight luxury safari-style tents each with a view over the waters. All have private en-suite facilities, open-air showers, flush toilets and modern amenities. Freshly prepared delicious meals are served in the thatched dining room overlooking the tranquil waters of the lagoon. There is a plunge pool in which to cool off during the hot months.
Activities:
Day and night game drives in open sided 4x4 vehicles ensuring maximum visibility, boat cruises on the Kwando River and excellent fishing.
Special attractions:
In the dry season Lagoon Camp offers a game experience unmatched in Africa, with sightings of up to 1,000 elephant in a single game drive. The lion prides regularly hunt elephant in this remote region. Another special feature is the river boat experience. The flow of the river enables the boat to gently drift along in silence - perfect for bird watching and game viewing
