Kings Pool Lagoon takes its name from a Scandinavian monarch who spent a number of nights camping out on the banks of the lagoon, long before the camp was built here. Aptly named indeed, for what is probably the most luxurious and majestic camp in Botswana offering guests a level of comfort and wide range of experiences that transcend that of an ordinary safari.
Location:
Situated between Okavango and Chobe within the private Linyanti Concession, overlooking Linyanti River and Kings Pool lagoon.
Accommodation and facilities:
Kings Pool offers some of the highest quality accommodation in Botswana - nine luxury, raised thatched roof tents, all en suite and each with a plunge pool and sala, own lounge area, dressing area, fans and outdoor shower. There is a large dining room, pub and lounge under thatch; decked on stilted platforms. An open air boma for dinner around the camp fire, swimming pool and curio shop.
Activities:
Game drives via open 4x4 Land Rovers each accommodating a maximum of seven guests, allowing all guests an outside seat, walking safaris, hides for game viewing, fishing and birding.
Special attractions:
One of Kings Pool’s delightful attractions is an underground hide, with the water at eye-level allowing guests to see elephants’ feet and trunks literally within touching distance.
