DumaTau or ’roar of the lion’ is a luxury tented camp, in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve bordering the Chobe National Park. The camp is built on raised boardwalks under a shady grove of mangosteen trees, overlooking a large hippo-filled lagoon on the Linyanti waterways. The source of the Savuti Channel is close to the camp and the thrilling and exhilarating game drives along the Savuti are just one of the many highlights you will experience.
Location:
Situated within the Linyanti concession, bordered by Chobe National Park, near the Savuti/Linyanti confluence.
Accommodation and facilities:
Ten raised, canvas cottages on wooden decks, full en suite facilities, indoor and outdoor shower, fans and mosquito nets. Dinner is served in the thatched dining room and bar overlooking a vast lagoon. The camp also has a curio shop and refreshing plunge pool.
Activities:
Day and night game drives in open 4x4 Land Rovers, motor boat cruises, game walks and hides, fishing and birding.
Special attractions:
The area is famous for its elephant concentrations in the winter months when huge herds of elephant congregate along the waterways and lagoons - and at the waterholes that are located along the Savuti Channel.
