Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp truly exudes the atmosphere, elegance and style of a bygone African safari era. Set perfectly in a natural amphitheatre of ebony and sausage trees amidst over a quarter of a million acres of untamed African bush, it affords some of the finest big game viewing in the Okavango Delta.
Location:
Adjoining the world famous Moremi Game Reserve, at the southernmost tip of Chief’s Island overlooking the Okavango Delta’s Boro River.
Accommodation and facilities:
Eight traditionally styled safari tents raised on wooden decking, all with en suite facilities, private balcony, ceiling fan and safe. The raised main building and dining area is built in to the existing tree line and offers expansive views over the surrounding floodplains.
Activities:
Day and night time game drives, walking safaris, mokoro (dugout canoe) trips and elephant ’interaction’.
Special attractions:
One of the highlights during your stay will be the opportunity to spend some time in the company of Doug and Sandy Groves and their three semi-habituated elephants, Jabu, Thembi and Marula. These gentle giants give guests the chance to learn about elephants and observe them in their natural environment - an unforgettable experience!
