This intimate and exclusive lodge takes its name from the 19th century explorer and artist, Thomas Baines. It is located deep within the shady trees that skirt the sparkling waters of the Okavango Delta and offers uninterrupted and spectacular views of the Boro River and the wide variety of wildlife that make it their home.
Location:
At the edge of the southern section of the world famous Moremi Game Reserve, Northern Botswana.
Accommodation and facilities:
Five luxury elevated, balconied suites each with a four poster bed and en suite facilities. Each bed is mobile to enable guests to sleep under the stars. The main lodge features a spacious lounge and an oversized decked dining area for outdoor eating. There is also a swimming pool with a thatched sala on either side.
Activities:
Day and night time game drives, guided walking safaris, mokoro (dugout canoe) and Delta boat trips, ’Join the Herd’ elephant activities and picnics.
Special attractions:
In addition to the tranquillity of delightful mokoro floating safaris, the ’Join the Herd’ elephant interaction offered at Stanley’s Camp is also available to guests at Baines’ Camp. Avid astronomers will enjoy stargazing from the privacy of their own deck.
