Chitabe is a luxuriously appointed camp located on one of the most beautiful islands in the Okavango Delta. It is a photographer’s dream as the Chitabe area is a combination of open floodplains, wooded islands and lagoons, creating a magnificent setting and background for the abundance of wildlife that inhabits it.
Location:
Chitabe is situated in a private area in the south east of the Okavango Delta, on the borders of the Moremi Game Reserve.
Accommodation and facilities:
Eight luxury, twin bedded, traditional African style tents, raised on elevated wooden decks under a lush canopy of indigenous trees. Each tent has en suite facilities and hot and cold running water. There is a separate, luxuriously appointed thatched dining room, bar and lounge and a swimming pool linked by raised walkways.
Activities:
Day and night game drives, mokoro canoe excursions, safari walks, photography and birding.
Special attractions:
The area is renowned for its spectacular bird watching. For a true taste of the ’African night’, Chitabe also has two elevated hides located in the reserve, where guests can experience a "sleep out" under the stars.
