A walking safari camp in traditional adventurer style...
A short game drive away from Shinde Camp, your recommended base, is Footsteps Camp a place for the adventurous safari visitor who wants to explore the bush of the Okavango Delta on their own two feet. Led by two armed and experienced guides this is your chance to encounter the big game of Africa on their own ground. At Footsteps you dictate the pace and although it is primarily a walking safari camp, you can go on game drives or float around the waterways in a mokoro canoe, or settle down to sundowner drinks at the hippo pool. With only three tents (six beds), there are more staff than guests, and you feel that this rustic camp is personally yours, Your travels will expose you to over 450 species of birds and 75 species of mammal, including lion, buffalo, elephant, wild dog, cheetah, zebra and giraffe, amongst others. After the day’s exertions you can sit and relax over a delicious meal cooked in an earth oven heated by glowing coals, then gather around the fire for after dinner drinks and stories. A charming and truly magical experience!
