Xigera is a superb, luxury camp located on Paradise Island in the heart of the Okavango and surrounded by permanent water. This is a totally private and exclusive area, with no other camps nearby. Xigera offers you your very own private haven from which to enjoy and interact with some of the finest water and land based activities and wildlife in the whole of Botswana!
Location:
Situated in the central west area of the Okavango Delta, within the Moremi Game Reserve.
Accommodation and facilities:
Accommodates twenty guests in a delightful arrangement of raised tents, eight twin bedded and two king-size bedded honeymoon tents all en suite and also with outside showers, private balcony and fans. Each tent is connected by a walkway to the thatched dining room and lounge bar. There is also a curio shop and a refreshing plunge pool.
Activities:
Game drives in 4x4 open Land Rovers, power boat cruises, mokoros (dugout canoe) excursions, walking safaris, excellent birding.
Special attractions:
One of the unique features of Xigera is the footbridge in front of camp. This is the only way predators can cross from island to island without having to swim. A pit has been built with soft sand, which each animal is forced to walk over when they use the bridge. Every evening the sand is raked smooth and the next morning guests are able to see what animals have walked through camp
